I remember in Pop-Warner one of my coach was shitting on tennis, which I played at the time.  After he was finished ragging on tennis he turned to me and asked me if I knew who Ana Kournikova was. I didn’t at the time, but all he had to say was that she was a fine piece of ace and that I should get to know her.

Back then she was the only thing worth watching in women’s tennis and she sucked.  I feel like i remember Ana Kournikova being known more for her appearance in Enrique Iglesias’ music video for his song Escape. If I recall correctly she was smoking hot in it.  I have no idea what she is up to now, I doubt she still plays but she still could be with Enrique. Who gives a fuck anyway all I know is that when my girl Maria Sharapova came around everyone forgot about Ana. Ana who?? Korni-what?Maria was just as hot as Ana and the best part of all was that she tore shit up!  She’s 22 today and is a three-time Grand Slam winner.  Now women’s tennis is stacked with hotties.

We have the amazing Maria Sharapova to the right. Russian born, three-time Grand Slam champion.

Daniela Hantuchova. She’s a Slovakian Tennis player, only 24 and she makes our imagination work. She has twice top the ACE tennis magazine as the sexiest tennis players.

Ana Ivanovic. Winner of the 2008 French Open and runner-up in the 2008 Australian Open, the Serbian hottie definitely has a body to kill.  ———>

Victoria Vanucci. Former Argentinian Tennis player, was forced to retire at a young age due to a serious shoulder injury. This didn’t stop her from showing off her beautiful body, as she took up modeling.

Last but not least is Maria Kirilienko. This russian beauty is said to be good friends with Maria Sharapova…. I woudn’t mind playing doubles with them!!

For all you NCAA fans the brackets are out!  I like Cuse’ to face off with Kentucky in the finals.  Cuse’ plays great team basketball while UK’s freshman stud John Wall can take over a game at any moment.  This should be an excited tourny to watch since there are no clear cut dominant teams this year, giving an opportunity for lower seeded teams to make some noise.

My sleeper team is the Siena Saints reppin the cap district.  Their star player Edwin Ubiles, from Poughkeepsie, is real dangerous.

Shout out to Marist College Women’s Bball 5 year MAAC champs and should make a run in the tourny.  They used to be home to the hottest baller of all time Julianne Viani.

LT bolts to New York March 15, 2010

Today the Jets announced a deal signing the former MVP, LaDainian Tomlinson, for 2 years $5 million.

Saying goodbye to Thomas Jones, this move adds another threat to the crowded backfield for gang green.  With Leon Washington coming of surgery, he has major question marks surrounding him.  With the Jets O-line  their run game should be scary next year. If LT has a semi-comeback year the run game could look like the 2008 Giants with two 1,000 yard rushers.  This should also help the Jets 31st ranking passing offense by forcing teams to put 8 in the box.  The Jets right now look like a lock to make the playoffs next year and go deep.

Season Outlook- Boston Red Sox March 11, 2010

After watching their hated rival, the New York Yankees, celebrate their 27th World Series title the Boston Red Sox knew they would have to spend some cash this off-season.  The Sox got swept out of the divisional playoff series by the Anaheim Angels but felt they were a better team.  They will be able to flex their muscles come April with new Ace John Lackey and a brand new lineup .  2009 left a bitter taste in their mouth and in 2010 they will be looking to put that same taste back in the Yankees mouth.  If the pitching staff can hold up this summer and “Dice” K can live up to expectations, the AL better get out the way.

Offseason

Losing in the first round of the playoffs the Red Sox knew they had to get a big arm this winter.  They did just that by signing John Lackey to a 5 year $82 Million contract.   Though they lost slugger Jason Bay to the New York Mets they were able to sign a gold glover in Mike Cameron to patrol the crazy outfield of Fenway and Marco Scutaro to hold down the infield at Shortstop. With Mike Lowell’s abilities fading they also sign Adrian Beltre who was once considered as a great up and comer to play 3rd.  Resigning they Victor Martinez who they traded for in July will provide a big bat behind the plate and sure up any questions about their lineup.

Projected Lineup

  1. Jacoby Ellsbury-LF
  2. Dustin Pedroia-2B
  3. Victor Martinez-C
  4. Kevin Youkilis-1B
  5. David Ortiz- DH
  6. J.D. Drew- RF
  7. Adrian Beltre-3B
  8. Mike Cameron-CF
  9. Marco Scutaro-SS

With so many new names in the lineup its hard to judge how potent the Red Sox offense will be.  No doubt about it they will score lots of runs, but enough to keep up with the Yankees?  There are so many questions surrounding this lineup, Will Beltre and Ortiz revert back to their old form?  Will the top 4 hitters be able to carry this team? Will Cameron strike out too much?  If these unknowns work out in their favor this is a real scary lineup, if not I don’t know if they play a game in October.

Rotation

  1. John Lackey
  2. Josh Beckett
  3. Jon Lester
  4. Daisuke Matsuzaka
  5. Clay Buchholz

Hands down this is the best rotation in the league.  If the bats cant produce this season the Red Sox will rely heavily in these guys to pull them into the playoffs.  The lone question mark is Daisuke who spent most of last year on the DL.  But is looking to prove to America that hes worth the millions of dollars he signed for.  It’ll be real exciting to see Josh Jon and John series vs the Yankees lineups.

Up and Comers

1. Ryan Westmoreland-  Ryan is looking to break into the starting outfield, he may make his chance if Mike Cameron does not produce.

2. Casey Kelly-  Kelly will provide starting pitching depth this year, look for him to pitch in AAA for this year and if Daisuke doesn’t work out he’ll come up and make a big impact.

2010 Outlook

The Red Sox strong rotation makes me believe they will be able to compete with the Yanks, but the questions in their lineup leads me to believe competing wont be good enough.  Look for the Sox to be the AL Wildcard team and possibly make some noise in the playoffs on the backs of their rotation.

Prediction

98-64 Wild Card, lose in AL Championship series

Season Outlook – New York Mets March 10, 2010

With a disappointing 2009 season the New York Mets hope to get back to the basics in 2010.  2009 the Mets saw half of their stars end up on the disabled list exploiting their lack of depth.  Carlos Beltran, David Wright, Jose Reyes, Carlos Delgado, Johan Santana, and John Maine all saw significant time on the disabled list, leaving glaring holes throughout the team.  With everyone back healthy and some new additions this year the Mets are ready to put 2009 behind them.  With a handful of talent in the farm system and a healthy young core the Mets could be back into contention for years to come.  But a strong start is vital for the confidence, since it has plummeted three years prior.

With 3 or 4 prospects on the horizon of seeing time in “the show” the Mets motto this offseason was patience. Though they were still able to make some noise this winter, Omar Minaya went to work by signing Red Sox outfielder Jason Bay, for 4 years $60 million who last year hit 36 Homeruns and over 100 RBIs last year and solidified the catching position by bringing 6 catchers into spring training all of whom had significant playing time in the Majors.  These addition whether coming from other teams, their farm system, or even back from injury should all contribute in putting the Mets back into playoff contenders.

Starting Lineup

  1. Reyes-SS
  2. Castillo – 2B
  3. Beltran -CF
  4. Wright – 3B
  5. Bay       – LF
  6. Murphy -1B
  7. Francoeur – RF
  8. Barajas – C
  9. Santana -P

The Lineup is similar to last years but Jason Bay should offer more pop, and Francoeur makes the back end of the lineup a lot stronger.  David Wright has worked this entire offseason on getting stronger to come back from his dismal 10 HR year.  Pagan or Matthews Jr. will get the nod in CF for the first month of the season with Beltran coming off of knee surgery.

Rotation

  1. Santana
  2. Pelfrey
  3. Maine
  4. Perez
  5. Niese

The rotation beyond the ace is a bit shaky.  But if Maine and Perez can revert back to their 2006 form the Mets should be a force to be reckoned with.  Before a freak hamstring accident Niese showed great promise.  But this rotations main focus should be to stay healthy.

Up and Comers

Jenry Mejia- Impressive camp so far hes already in the conversation for the set-up role, but my guess is hell get some time to work on his control in AA, and called up in June if needed tofill a rotation spot.

Ike Davis-  So far in spring training Davis has had 11 total bases 2 HRs and is batting over .500.  Daniel Murphy better watch out because if he struggles at 1B the Mets will be able to give Davis the nod at 1st.

Fernando Martinez-  Once the Jewel of the Mets organization, he’s since fallen out of favor.  But is he by no means a bust.  A strong start in AAA and an injury in the outfield could lead him to the bigs.

2010 Outlook

Look the Mets still have a star studded cast and with all that talent look for them to produce some good results in 2010.  The Mets will lose out to the Phillies as NL East Champions but look for them to compete to the end for the Wild Card spot in the NL.

Prediction

88-74

NL Wildcard

This uncapped off-season has started off with a bang.  A month after the Lombardi Trophy made its way to the “Big Easy” the first day of Free Agency brought some big signings and trades such as Juluis Peppers and Karlos Dansby.  The area teams, Giants Jets and Patriots have made some noise this offseason.  Most notably the Giants have signed safety Antrel Rolle to a record deal for safeties at 5 years 37$ million while the Jets have traded a 3 or 2 round pick (depending on certain variables) to the Chargers for Antonio Cromartie.  The Patriots have been able to hold onto most of their players such as Corner Leigh Bodden.  But they have lost Jarvis Green to the Broncos for a big deal.  The NFL Draft starts April 22nd!!!
